Choose Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge is Louisiana's Capital City and the best place to have an authentic Louisiana experience during your next meeting or convention. Our convention center, the Raising Cane's River Center, offers more than 200,000 square feet of space to be used for hosting sporting events, conventions, meetings, conferences and tradeshows to name a few. Located within our walkable downtown district, the convention center is only steps away from luxurious hotels like the Watermark and restaurants like local favorites Capital City Grill and Stroube's Seafood and Steak.

Between our historic venues such as the Louisiana's Old State Capitol and Red Stick Social, to arts venues like the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, there's a venue to suit every meeting planner's needs.

Our overall experience in Baton Rouge was great! The professionalism of all the folks involved from Visit Baton Rouge helped so much in contributing to the overall success of our event. The particular expertise by the VBR staff for our banquet were especially appreciated and spot on! We enjoyed hosting our event in Baton Rouge and would strongly consider returning in the future.

Thank you very much for your assistance and southern hospitality! Our conference was a HUGE success. There were 696 attendees and 810 registrants, 2nd largest Fall Regional Conference in Region V with number one being in New Orleans in 2007. The bags you provided were VERY helpful and we actually gave all of them out. Once again, thank you for the support and assistance

Visit Baton Rouge was an outstanding partner in helping to plan and execute our successful 51st LABash Conference. From helping us secure a beautiful hotel/venue on the Mississippi River to providing valuable visitor assistance and welcoming the hundreds of people that attended, they were a tremendous help. We would especially like to thank Michael Aguirre and Anna Gasperecz for their constant professionalism and consistent attention to detail.

Reflecting on the visit to Baton Rouge, I can’t decide what I enjoyed the most; the warm, friendly people, the slow rolling fog on the Mississippi, the music, or the mouthwatering cuisine. Holding SACRAO’s 72nd Annual Meeting in the Red Stick didn’t feel like we were visitors, but rather like we were among old friends. From the hotels, to the Raising Cane’s River Center, to the museums and historic sites, Baton Rouge opened her arms and made us feel right at home. Thank you for a most enjoyable experience!

We bring competitors into Baton Rouge from all over the US and Canada. They are always impressed by the hospitality of the Baton Rouge area people and they enjoy the many outstanding restaurants the city has to offer.

Thank you for making our visit to Baton Rouge a success. We couldn't have done it without your assistance. I especially want to thank Philipa Blair and Geraldine Bordelon as they were consistently excellent to work with. With thanks to your staff--everything you did in making our 2015 Society of American Foresters National Convention such a success--you have no rivals in the industry! Again, thank you for being such a great part of the whole convention.
